We are having a bit of a colder snap again here in Indiana. The daffodils are growing, and yesterday I picked the first one in the woods and brought it in for my wife. (it’s the little things that count!)

My brother Gerald is cooking maple syrup again this year at his homestead. We bought a few gallons of the tasty stuff a few weeks ago. Sounds like it’s a bit of a longer cooking session this season. He is also a bit of a handyman and has plans to come help me put metal on my barn roof this week. I never did construction work myself, but boy, it sure would come in handy to have learned that trade. That’s why I would like for my sons to at least do that for a few years while they are young.

We have redone the cover a bit on this issue and are giving Bright Star more space to showcase their auction items. Hope you like it!

In this issue, we have another article by Toby Miller on staying healthy. It is part one and will be continued next month. My heart goes out to any family dealing with a loved one who has Alzheimer’s or dementia. One thing to pray for is that our mind stays healthy and outlasts our body.

I hope you enjoy Todd Wilson’s ‘You da Dad’ articles as much as I do. It’s those little moments in life that can’t be replaced, and I can already see why older folks say, ‘It doesn’t take long at all’ for the children to grow up. I am ashamed of myself for choosing work over family in the past. What is a father’s time at home really worth? I have learned that there is no price that can be placed on family time. Once that time is gone, there is no getting it back.

Also in this issue, I have the first half of President Trump’s speech to Congress. I do want to be careful how much of this I print, and certainly don’t want to pass my opinion on the speech or on politics in any way. I think it’s kinda interesting to read the speech and see what our country’s leader is up to, as it is a part of history in the making. So, while I enjoy reading and printing these articles, I am not encouraging anyone to get involved in politics or to get too wrapped up in what is going on in the world around us, as we keep our ultimate goal in mind every day. We are supposed to pray for our government, and maybe this can serve as a reminder to do that.

I did not get any responses on 6-quarter lumber prices. I am thinking about taking that section out and replacing it with pallet prices. A few questions that I have: A separate price for boards versus stringers? Picked up or delivered? Does location affect the price? Let me know how you would like to see the report laid out, and I will try to accommodate that.

I will be out of the office from March 31-April 4. You are welcome to leave a message, and I will take care of you as soon as I can.

We appreciate your support of EquipmentEdge! Thank you!

Until next time
